My Review:
Little Lamb is excited he gets to visit baby Jesus at the manger. Told in simple text, Little Lamb introduces children to the reason we celebrate Christmas. I like the interactive element of the lamb finger puppet as he tells the story on each page. What a fun way to share Jesus' birth with little ones. My Review:
Over in the Stable is a beautiful counting book that celebrates the birth of Jesus. The words of Suzanne Nelson and illustrations of Aleksandar Zolotic marry together for the perfect book to share on Christmas Eve before the little ones are tucked in. The animals in the story have such sweet, beautiful faces. This would also be a great book to use in Sunday School or Junior Church. I can see Over in the Stable becoming an annual holiday favorite. My Review:
Little Sweet Pea, God Loves You is an adorable book made for reading aloud. This is the perfect story for lap-sitting and snuggling. The words are in a sing-song easy to read rhyme. The delightful illustrations add charm. Kit Chase uses watercolor, gouache, acrylic and ink to bring the pages to life. If you have a sweet child in your life you enjoy reading to, or know someone who would enjoy this positive, inspiring read about God's love for them pick up a copy to share.  I received a complimentary copy of this book from Zonderkidz. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

Children's Picture Book Review: A Kite for Moon by Jane Yolen & Heidi E.Y. Stemple, illustrated by Matt Phelan

My Review:

A Kite for Moon is the perfect conversation starter about space exploration, the moon, or a summer night of star gazing. Share this poetic tribute with an elementary school class or your own children. This sweet story will inspire children to dream about what they'd like to do when they grow up. Dedicated to Neil Armstrong, the story follows a little boy and his desire to help the moon find happiness. I like that the point of view comes from the moon's perspective. At the age of 12, I remember watching Armstrong's moon landing; as will many grandparents who will want to read this to their grandchildren. This gorgeous book, filled with beautiful illustrations, is a perfect salute to Armstrong and all the boys and girls who dream of bigger things. Children's Book Review: The Ology: Ancient Truths Ever New by Marty Machowski, illustrated by Andy MacGuire

My Review:
The Ology is not a Bible story book. Instead it's a great tool for teaching children the truths of the Bible. Divided into ten chapters and seventy-one sections, the flexibility of the book lends to easy use and can be shared in order or by topic. Machowski uses easy to understand examples of common things children would understand to introduce concepts. He also includes a parent's guide, glossary, numerous scriptures, and a questions. The Ology is a good source for parents, teachers and anyone wishing to share the Bible with young people. This even a good resource for adults.

I don't see this as sit down and read through kind of book, but more as an open up and let's look at the concept type of book. The illustrations are beautiful and add pleasing aesthetics. There were a few concepts I differed on with the author, but even at that, they can be used as a jumping off point for discussion. I'm giving the book five-stars because the author took on a large task and did a meticulous job providing examples and explanations. Also the illustrators work adds so much to the text.
